Barker does a little fortune telling today

Gerry Barker's column in today's Guelph Mercury should be bookmarked for the future:
One of Murphy’s lesser known laws: the 50-50-90 rule. Anytime you have a 50-50 chance of getting something right, there’s a 90 per cent probability you’ll get it wrong.

Taxpayers have to be relieved that spending $102 million on various projects in one section of the city will not cost them huge increases in taxes. If you believe that, read the previous paragraph.
I'd add that if you think the final cost is going to be $102 million you might be suffering from a touch of heat stroke.

Higher taxes and more debt - a future to look forward to in Guelph.
